Looking for a new and delicious keto cocktail? Try this tequila sunset low carb drink with or without blackberry lime infused tequila. It a bit like a blackberry margarita! Only a few net carbs per drink!

When it comes to drinking I usually drink vodka because there are so many flavors and you can drink it on the rocks for a low carb drink. However my second favorite alcohol is tequila. I love margaritas on the rocks, especially in the summer. Today I wanted to use some blackberries I had and decided to make this blackberry lime infused tequila and it was awesome!
My hubby was kind enough to help me sample it … what a guy! We drank it on the rocks with blackberry seltzer water and also with some sugar free blackberry syrup. Both were delicious! I favorited the tequila sunset cocktail (with the blackberry sauce) and he liked the infusion with just seltzer. You will have to try both to see what you like!
More Low Carb Drinks And Infusions
I like playing around with vodka and other alcohol infusions. To me it’s fun and you can make some tasty low carb drinks by just adding ice and/or seltzer water. Some of my favorites are:
- strawberry basil gin
- apricot ginger vodka
- strawberry lime tequila
- Bloody Mary vodka
- mojito vodka
- tea infused vodkas
- spicy jalapeno tequila
Making The Blackberry Lime Infused Tequila
This tequila infusion is very simple to make. Just slice up some limes, lemons and blackberries to a jar and top with your favorite tequila. I would recommend using a middle or top of the shelf tequila for the best results. Place a lid on it and let it refrigerate for a few days.
How To Use The Tequila Infusion
I like to just strain some as I need it and then place it back into the refrigerator to keep infusing. The way we drank it was over the rocks with some blackberry seltzer. You can drink it plain or with plain seltzer if you like. It would also be good with a squeeze of lime and lime seltzer. Mix and match the flavors and have fun.
Making The Sugar Free Blackberry Sauce
This is a simple sugar free berry sauce and uses blackberries, Swerve sweetener, lime zest and water. You simmer for 5 – 10 minutes until it starts to thicken then you strain it into a small jar.
Make sure to smash the berries as it’s cooking to release the juices. I used a potato masher and it worked well but you can just use a fork if you wish. I would recommend not letting it get too thick because you won’t get much end product. You want it to be more of a syrup than a jam.
Making The Keto Tequila Sunset Drink
I don’t know if there is a tequila sunset drink but this is my version if there is one. It’s just the infused tequila, blackberry sauce, lime juice and blackberry seltzer water.
You can use regular tequila and plain seltzer if you wish but they do add another layer of flavor. The blackberry seltzer I bought was make by Bubly. My family has been loving their seltzer waters lately.
A Note About Calories And Carbs
For the blackberry sauce, I got about 5oz or 10 tablespoons. The carbs are hard to count because you are not using all of the blackberries. Also the lime zest and Swerve sweetener have no net carbs. So I’m going to say that 1 tablespoon has roughly 13 cals and 1.2g net carbs.
Tequila has roughly 77 cals and 0g net carbs per 1 oz.
Lime juice has about 4 cals and 1.2g net carbs for fresh and 0g net carbs for bottled lime juice.
So my tequila sunset cocktail would have roughly 107 cals and 2.4g net carb because I used the bottled lime juice.
If you are really concerned, please do your own calculations.
I must say that my husband and I enjoyed taste testing this blackberry lime infused tequila. These types of drinks would be lots of fun to make for a party. Make a bunch of different infusions and let your guests mix and match their own drinks. Enjoy!

How many servings does this make? Recipe says ONE?!?!?
Denise
The 1 serving is just referring to the part of the recipe that makes a tequila sunset. This recipe will make approximately 1.5cups of infused tequila and about 1 cup of syrup. As to how many drinks you can make that will depend how you make your drinks. Using the recipe I have listed you would get about 12 drinks? Hope you like it!
