What is the Ninja Creami ice cream machine and how does it work?
It took me 6 months to buy mine. I kept looking at it but was not sure I wanted to invest in it and be disappointed. Now I’m so glad I took the chance and my expectations have been far surpassed.
The Ninja Creami can make all kinds of frozen desserts like homemade ice cream, sorbets, gelato, smoothie bowls and milkshakes. As I’ve mentioned below I have only tried to make keto ice cream and it’s been so good I haven’t tried the others … yet!
It sort of works in reverse from regular churn ice cream makers. With those you freeze the bowl that came with the churn machine for 24 hours. Then when you want to make the ice cream, you pour your base into the frozen bowl and churn for 30 minutes or so.
As for how the Ninja works, it uses their “Creamify technology”.
- You make the base in about 5 minutes and pour it in the pint containers that come with the machine.
- Place the container in the freezer for 20-24 hours and then when you are ready to eat, you place it in the machine.
- The machine’s motors finely shaves the frozen base in a downward pressure and turns the shaved ice into the creamiest ice cream. This takes about 5-10 minutes.
- You store leftovers in the containers that came with the machine. You then run them through the machine whenever you want to have delicious homemade ice cream.
- Tip: Buy extra containers so you can have a variety of flavors on hand in the freezer.
It’s so nice to be able to make healthy ice cream in any flavor I want and know it’s going to taste good.
It comes with a recipe book and 2 pint size ice cream storage containers that you use with the machine. I bought 2 more of these airtight containers so I have a few flavors in the freezer to pick from and then I just whip up a batch when I’m in the mood.

Hi Jorin, I have the total carbs and net carbs listed under the blurb for each of the 11 listed keto ice cream recipes. I do not have the carbs broken down by sugars as my app doesn’t give me that level of detail. I hope that helps a bit.
