These recipes were sponsored by Torani. All opinions are my own. Messaging below is intended for ages 21+.

Spring is just around the corner and I can’t wait! Be it Easter celebrations, Mother’s Day or even bridal showers this is brunch season and I have a got the perfect drink for you. Using Torani’s sugar free pineapple syrup I came of with a spicy pineapple margarita that is both low carb and sugar free.

It is the perfect combination of spicy, sweet and tart. Can’t you see yourself sipping this tasty drink at your next brunch?

Low Carb Infused Alcohol

This drink was inspired by a cocktail I had with my family in Sonoma. It was a spicy margarita and I have no idea what was in it, but I remember I loved it. So when I received my bottle of Torani sugar free pineapple syrup I immediately thought of that drink.

I love to infuse alcohol to make low carb drinks as you might remember from my strawberry basil gin or mojito infused vodka recipes. This time I made an infused jalapeño tequila. My husband loved this one and I can see him using it in other cocktails like his famous Bloody Mary.

Jalapeno Infused Tequila

Making the jalapeño tequila only took one night of infusing to be hot and spicy. I simply chopped up and halved a few jalapeños and covered them with mid shelf tequila. I set the jar aside overnight and it was good to go.

Let me warn you this tequila is hot. You only need 1 oz per drink but if it’s too hot for you, you can mix it with plain tequila. Or you can clean out the ribs and seeds before infusing. That is where the heat is.

But I would recommend using the infused alcohol because not only is it spicy, it has that lovely green taste from the pepper that adds another note to the drink.

Spicy Pineapple Margarita Recipe

First you want to rim the glass with a combination of Swerve sweetener, salt and lime zest. This is my favorite combination and really added to the drink. The basic recipe is:

1 oz. infused tequila + 2 oz. Torani Sugar Free Pineapple Syrup + 2 oz. bottled lime juice

The most important ingredient in this low carb drink is the Torani sugar free pineapple syrup. It is a new flavor for Torani and one of my favorites. It will be awesome for summer recipes. Their sugar free syrups are sweetened with Splenda and have 0 carbs so they are great for low carb drinks and cocktails.

More Torani Sugar Free Flavors

They have 37 sugar free syrups to try and I literally have had them all. My favorites are: pineapple, raspberry, coffee, s’mores, salted caramel, strawberry, lime, chocolate macadamia, hazelnut. Seriously they are all good. Just comment below if you have any questions about flavors.

So if you are planning a brunch sometime soon, keep this tasty drink in mind. It’s very easy to make, goes well with all types of brunch foods and is guilt-free! And remember you don’t have to have alcohol in this recipe. It would still be tasty with just the pineapple syrup, lime juice and some seltzer water. But try the jalapeño infused tequila because it’s delish.

And if you are look for a go to traditional low carb margarita, try my friend Georgina’s recipe from Step Away from the Carbs. She has lots of wonderful low carb recipes to try check out!

Follow Torani on Facebook and Instagram for some great recipes. You will find all kinds of ways to use your syrups! Take a pic and post with #AToraniBrunch on your social media so we can see your creations.

One note about the nutrition. I found that bottle lime juice from concentrate seems to have 0 carbs while freshly squeezed has about 5g net carbs per drink. So I would suggest using the bottled and the approximate nutritional information for 1 drink using 1 oz tequila is 76 cals and 2g carbs.

Ingredients

  • 8 jalapeños, chopped and halved
  • 2 cups tequila
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sweetener (Swerve or Splenda)
  • zest from 1 lime
  • 2 oz lime juice, bottled (has less carbs than fresh)
  • 2 oz Torani Sugar Free Pineapple Syrup

Instructions

  1. The night before making the drink, halve and chop the jalapeños and add to jar. Cover with tequila and set aside until ready to use. This only needs a day to infuse. If you wish it to be less hot, you can clean out the ribs and seeds before infusing.

  2. On a plate add the salt, sweetener and lime zest. Mix well and set aside.

  3. Wet the rim of the glass you are using with water and then dip into the salt mixture.

  4. To make the drink, add 1 oz of the jalapeño tequila, 2 oz of the Torani sugar free pineapple syrup and 2 oz of lime juice. Shake with ice and then pour into a glass.

  5. The tequila is very hot. You can use ½ oz of the jalapeño tequila and ½ oz of regular tequila if you wish.

I’m glad I can make this without alcohol since I love colorful, fun and fruity drinks but don’t drink alcohol! These are so cute and fun! And Torani seriously makes the most amazing syrups – I think I have like 5 different flavors in my cupboard, lol!

I’m partial to hot food, so the jalapeno-infused tequila was just fine for me. Replacing the traditional salt on the rim with the salt-sweet-lime zest was genius. Having one of these tonight!
