It’s been a while since I’ve made any new Ninja Creami protein ice cream recipes so I thought I’d try some fruit sorbets for a change. Today I made an easy Ninja Creami raspberry sorbet recipe with only 3 ingredients!
I love the sweet and tart flavor of raspberries as well as the beautiful color. Also most berries are low in carbs and a good source of fiber so I thought this would be another healthy sweet treat I could make with my Ninja Creami machine.
This was a simple recipe but perfect for hot summer days headed our way, and I can’t wait to experiment with other fruit flavors. I also have a Ninja Creami watermelon sorbet recipe I made last summer but it’s not quite watermelon season just yet.
The difference between ice cream, sorbet and sherbet.
I’m much more used to making ice cream than sorbet and I wasn’t really sure what the difference between sorbet and sherbet was.
The difference is that ice cream uses mostly dairy products like milk, heavy cream, etc. Sorbet however is dairy free and usually is just fruit, sugar and water.
Sherbet however is a bit like ice cream and sorbet. It usually fruity like sorbet but uses a bit of dairy to make it creamier than the sorbet but not as much as ice cream.
3 reasons why I love the Ninja Creami ice cream maker.
If you love ice cream as much as I do, I highly recommend this Ninja Creami ice cream machine. It is easily the best kitchen appliance I have bought and is well worth the money. Buying low carb or keto ice cream in the grocery store is expensive and to be honest it never tastes very good and making your own is so much better. Here is why I love mine so much.
• You can easily make healthy frozen sweet treats because you can control the ingredients.
• It’s much better than older ice cream makers in creating creamy and delicious frozen desserts due to its unique process that shaves and aerates the frozen bases. Try it once and you’ll see what I mean.
• You can make low carb high protein homemade ice cream, sugar free sorbets, smoothie bowls, milkshakes, gelato and more creamy treats
TIP: If you end up buying one, purchase a few extra pint containers. That way you can make a bunch of flavors and store them in your freezer to eat whenever you want.
Recipe ingredients and substitutions.
The 3 simple ingredients I used were frozen raspberries, lemon juice and Swerve sweetener. I also use a bit of water so you can more easily blend the berries.
Swerve Sweetener
While I use Swerve sweetener to keep the calories and sugar content down, you can do a 1 to 1 substitution with regular sugar if you prefer and don’t care about carbs. Honey and agave syrup are good substittutes as well.
All fruits naturally have a higher sugar content so I was try to keep the total carbs down so I used my favorite sweetener which is Swerve confectioners sweetener. You can also use your sweetener of choice.
Torani sugar free raspberry syrup is a good option for adding sweetness without carbs. This is one of my favorite flavors of their sugar free syrups.
Raspberries
Also I used frozen raspberries because it I find I have frozen fruit on hand most days to make smoothies and protein drinks. You can use fresh raspberries if you want or you can play around with other frozen or fresh berries like blue berries, black berries, strawberries, etc.
Lemon Juice
I was going to use fresh lemon juice but in the end decided to use lemon concentrate which has less carbs but it’s really negligible so use which ever you want.
TIP: Making sorbet is a good way to use up fresh fruit that is starting to get too ripe. If watching your carbs or sugar try to use berries as they have less sugar and vibrant flavors.
How to make Ninja Creami raspberry sorbet.
Here is how to make Ninja Creami raspberry sorbet. As I mentioned above you can use the same recipe using different berries if you wish. Also I used my Vitamix blender but you could also use a food processor to make the base.
- Add the frozen berries to the pitcher of a high speed blender along with the sweetener, water and lemon juice. You need a little water to get the blender going. Blend until you get a smooth and creamy raspberry puree. Taste and see if the sweetness is enough for you and adjust with the sweetener accordingly.
- Spoon the raspberry mixture into a pint container that came with the machine. Smooth the top out and attach the storage lid. Place in the freezer on a flat surface overnight. You don’t have to do it for exactly 24 hours but I like to at least do it overnight.
- The next day, take off the lid and place the container into the out bowl assembly and add the outer bowl lid. Put the assembly in the Ninja Creami ice cream maker and press the sorbet setting.
- When it’s done take it out and check out the texture. If it is powdery, place it back in the assembly with the lid and into the machine. Hit the sorbet function and run through another time. You may have to do this up to 3 times (I did). Just be sure not to do it too many times or it will get a bit mushy. Below you can see what mine looked like at each stage. Note the creamy texture in the last picture. That’s what you are going for.
- When done to your liking, take out and spoon into bowls. You can get 2-4 servings out of this pint container. I usually get 3 good size portions.
- If you have leftovers of this homemade sorbet, smooth it out at the top and attach the storage lid. Place back in the freeze. It must be frozen solid to run through the machine again.
TIP: If you want to make this more of a raspberry ice cream version you can substitute heavy cream for the water. This will be more of a sherbet I discussed above.

Ninja Creami Raspberry Sorbet Recipe
This Ninja Creami raspberry sorbet recipe only needs 3 ingredients and has no added sugar. This delicious raspberry sorbet is an easy and healthy sweet treat you can feel good about eating.
Ingredients
- 3 cups frozen raspberries (can use fresh raspberries too)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ cup sweetener (or white sugar)
- ⅓ cup water
Instructions
- To a high speed blender, add the frozen raspberries, water, lemon juice and sweetener. Blend on high until nice and smooth in texture. Taste and adjust the sweeteness if you need too. It is a bit tart.
- Spoon berry mixture into a pint container that comes with the Ninja Creami and smooth out the top to create a uniform surface. Place the storage lid on top and then place in the freezer. You don't have to do it for exactly 24 hours but I like to at least do it overnight.
- The next day or when you are ready to eat it, take off the lid and place in the outer bowl assembly. Attache the outer bowl lid and place in the machine. Hit the sorbet button and wait until it's done.
- Take out off the machine and check the texture and consistency. If it's powdery you should run it through the sorbet function again. It took me 3 times to have the creamy smooth texture. Not be careful to not run it through too many times or it will get mushy. See post for pictures.
- Spoon into a bowl and enjoy! The pint container makes 2-4 servings.
- If you have leftovers, smooth the surface of the remaining sorbet and attach the storage lid again. Place in the freezer until you want to eat some more. Note you will have to re-freeze it to run through the machine again.
