You all know I love my air fryer and since I made my own keto buffalo sauce a few weeks ago I’ve been using it a lot.
Air frying makes keto cooking so much easier! And these keto air fryer chicken wings are case in point.
Making wings in the air fryer is the perfect way to make them IMO. It’s easy and you get such crispy wings. And this meal is great too because it’s pretty inexpensive.
My hubby and son loved them and because they were a good keto friendly dinner, I’ll be adding this to our regular meals.
The 4 ingredients I used.
First of all I used fresh chicken wings in the air fryer as you can see below. I bought this large package wings at Aldi.
The simple sauce is made with only butter, fresh garlic and hot sauce and takes very little time to make so you can do that while the wings are air frying.
NOTE: If you want to use frozen wings cooking times may be longer. I put instructions in the recipe card below as to how to use frozen chicken wings instead of fresh.
Let’s make our keto air fryer chicken wings!
Step 1: Prepare you chicken wings by sprinkling salt & pepper all over the chicken wings and spray your air fryer basket with cooking spray.
Step 2: Place in the wings in the air fryer basket. Try to form a single layer and not over crowd them and bake at 380°F for 15 minutes.
Then flip them and increase the temperature to 400°F and fry for 15 minutes more. You can using cooking spray again if you want. Below you can see how crispy they get when air fried.
Step 3: While the wings are frying, make the easy buffalo sauce. See recipe card for instructions.
Step 4: Now all you have to do is spoon the buffalo sauce over your wings or place them in a bowl and pour it over.

Keto Air Fryer Chicken Wings with Buffalo Sauce
These air fryer keto buffalo chicken wings only need 4 ingredients and make spicy crispy wings a breeze! So grab your ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing and some paper towels and enjoy these crispy chicken wings.
Ingredients
- 3 lbs fresh chicken wings (about 10 full wings)
- 6 tablespoons of butter
- â…” cup of hot sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- salt & pepperÂ
Instructions
- To air fry the wings: First spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Sprinkle the raw chicken wings with salt & pepper then lay them in the air fryer basket. Try to form a single layer and not over crowd them.
- Set the air fryer temperature to 380°F and cook for 15 minutes then flip the chicken wings over. You can using cooking spray again if you want. Turn up the temperature to 400°F and cook for 15 minutes more until crispy.
- While the wings are air frying, make the buffalo wing sauce. Place the butter and garlic in a sauce pan. Let the butter melt and saute the garlic for a minute or two. Then add the hot sauce and whisk the sauce together. Let it simmer for a couple more minutes then take it off the stove.
- Once the wings are done, place them on a plate and pour the sauce over top. There should more sauce than you need so pour it in a bowl and serve along side the wings for those that want more. Can also serve with blue cheese dressing.
Notes
NOTE if you use frozen wings, it might take 5 -10 minutes longer. Make sure to check under the basket, if there is excess water from the frozen wings, dump it out as it might steam and not fry the them.
