I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve never really eaten wings. But because it’s such a great keto dish, I decided to give them a try and made these keto spicy Asian wings in my air fryer.
I am now hooked because they were SO easy, low carb and very tasty. My whole family liked them and I only used 4 ingredients!
My 4 Ingredients For Spicy Asian Wings
Originally I wanted to go for a General Tso’s type sauce for these wings but since it was my first time I made this quick and easy Asian sauce instead.
The 4 ingredients I used were: frozen chicken wings, soy sauce, Swerve brown sugar sweetener and chili garlic sauce.
Using Frozen Chicken Wings In The Air Fryer
As I said this was my first time making wings. I was surprised how easy it was to use frozen wings.
The ones that I used were from Aldi and they were very small so if you are using fresh or thawed wings the timing may be less. Or if you are using bigger wings the timing might be a bit more.
The nice thing about using an air fryer is that you can quickly check on them to see how they are cooking.
Let’s Make These Air Fryer Asian Wings
First thing you want to do is make the Asian sauce. I just mixed soy, chili garlic sauce and Swerve brown sugar sweetener in a bowl. I think you can probably find the chili garlic sauce and Swerve brown sugar in most larger grocery stores.
Take out your frozen wings and pour half or â…”rds of the sauce over the wings and mix to cover them. Keep the other â…“rd of the sauce for dipping.
The sauce is thin but it will coat the wings well enough. Keep the excess sauce in the bowl to baste the wings.
Next spray the basket of your air fryer and place the wings inside. Make sure not to overlap so that they cook better. Halfway through, use the remaining sauce that is in your mixing bowl to brush the wings and then flip them over and brush some more sauce on them.
Cook the wings at 380°F for about 30 minutes total. Again depending on whether you are using fresh or frozen and on the size of the wings, you may have to check them and take them out earlier or later. With the air fryer it’s really not a big deal to check on them while they are cooking.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- I used frozen small wings. If using fresh it may take less time to cook. If using larger wings it may take more time so either way keep an eye on them and adjust the time as necessary.
- These are a little spicy. You can taste the sauce and add more or less of the chili sauce and the brown sugar to your liking. My family loved the spiciness level, even my son.
- You shouldn’t need all the sauce for the wings if you are using small ones like I did, so you can save a little for dipping sauce. However that is not necessary if you are using larger wings and need all the sauce.
- Please save the sauce after initially mixing with the wings so that you can baste the wings half way through. DO NOT use the excess sauce that you mixed with the chicken as a dipping sauce as that is not safe because of the raw chicken. You can use it to baste half way through though. Not at the end.
Well I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy air fryer recipe. If you are a fan of wings (which I’m soon becoming) try them in the air fryer. They make for an easy keto dinner, snack or appetizer.

Keto Spicy Asian Wings in the Air Fryer
These spicy Asian wings are a breeze in the air fryer. You just need 4 ingredients and you will get crispy, flavorful and low carb wings.
Ingredients
- 12 frozen chicken wings
- 3 tablespoons of Swerve brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons chili sauce
- 6 tablespoons soy sauce
Instructions
- Mix the Swerve brown sugar sweetner, chili garlic sauce and soy sauce in a big bowl. Use about ½ of the sauce for marinade and save the rest for a dipping sauce.
- Add in the frozen chicken wings to the marinade and stir to coat. Depending on the size of you wings, you may need more of the marinade so don't worry about the dipping sauce.
- Spray the basket of the air fryer and place the wings in the basket making sure not to overlap. Keep the excess marinade as you will be using this to baste half way through the air frying.
- Cook at 380°F for 15 minutes. Take them out, baste, flip, baste again and tehn cook another 10 - 15 minutes. (NOTE, check under the basket, if there is excess water from the frozen wings, dump it out as it might steam and not fry the wings.)
- Note times may be different depending on the size of the wings and whether they are frozen or not.
