If you have been following my blog you will know that I love buffalo anything. I even made keto buffalo chicken cheese chips! I have at least 15 low carb buffalo sauce type of recipes and two more to come over the next couple weeks.
So today I wanted to share with you my easy keto buffalo sauce so you can use it for all kinds of recipes. You only need 3 ingredients so you can whip up a batch on demand to use whenever you want as it only takes a couple of minutes.
Is buffalo sauce keto friendly?
The answer is yes. There are very little carbs in buffalo sauce and that is why it is used in so many keto recipes.
In general, most hot sauces are low carb as they are usually made with vinegar and chili peppers like cayenne peppers. I often use Frank’s hot sauce, Tabasco hot sauce or Aldi’s Burman’s brand of hot sauce and all are low carb.
So if you like spicy food and are on a keto diet, you can safely smother your food with buffalo or hot sauce.
The 3 ingredients I used.
I just used butter, hot sauce and garlic in my buffalo sauce. That’s it. Some people add Worcestershire sauce or garlic powder instead of garlic. But I like to keep it simple so I can whip it up quickly whenever a recipe calls for it.
If you want to add even more heat, you can try adding a bit of cayenne powder. For me that is too much heat but that is an option.
Let’s make this keto buffalo sauce recipe!
- Add butter and crushed garlic to a sauce pan.
- Once the butter has melted, let the garlic cook for a minute to combine with the butter.
- Whisk in the hot sauce and bring to a simmer for a few minutes.
- Take it off the stove and pour in to a bowl or jar. It will thicken a bit as it cools.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.

I have two recipes coming up that use this sauce. Of course everyone loves buffalo chicken wings, but you can also use this sauce on keto chicken nuggets, breaded pork, chicken meatballs or even fried cauliflower.
Another way to use this buffalo wing sauce is on shredded chicken or chicken legs. And lastly you can use it as dipping sauce. It would be great along side some homemade blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing.

Easy Homemade Keto Buffalo Sauce Recipe
This easy homemade keto buffalo sauce just uses 3 ingredients so you can make it on demand in minutes when you make chicken wings or fried chicken recipes.
Ingredients
- â…” cup hot sauce (like Frank's hot sauce)
- 6 tablespoons of butter
- 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
- a pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Add the butter and garlic to a small sauce pan.
- Once the butter has melted, let the garlic and butter cook for a minute to blend together.
- Pour in the hot sauce and whisk to combine. Let simmer for a few minutes then take off the stove.
- Pour into a bowl or jar. It will thicken a bit as it cools.
