This low carb cheesesteak salad is the answer to your cheesesteak cravings and it’s easy to make. The savory meat mixture over crunchy and cool lettuce is topped with a creamy Parmesan dressing. Only 5.3g per serving.
My sister recently made a cheese steak skillet pasta dish the other day and I was drooling. However I try to stick to a low carb diet so I decided to make this low carb cheesesteak salad with a creamy Parmesan dressing instead. Yum, yum, yum! I love salads just about any way you make them but this was really tasty. The meat was flavored with steak seasoning and I used peppers, onions and mushrooms. Spoon that over crisp greens and top with the cream Parmesan dressing and you have perfection!
Low Carb Dinner Salads
I have many dinner salad recipes on this blog if you are into them as much as me. Some of my favorites are: kung pao chicken salad, bacon blue cheese burger salad, layered cobb salad, Italian sub salad.
It’s pretty easy to turn a typical burger or sandwich into a salad. Just a bed of lettuce for the bun. Add all the fixings you would put on a burger or sandwich to your salad and you have a healthy low carb salad for dinner! So let’s get to making this cheesesteak salad.
Cheesesteak Salad Recipe
This should only take you about 10 minutes. You want to add a bit of oil to a large saute pan and then add ground beef and steak seasoning. Once it’s not so pink, add in the peppers, onions and mushrooms. Saute everything until the meat is brown well and the veggies are softened. Let it cool a few minutes before spooning onto your salad.
Creamy Parmesan Dressing
I have never really had Parmesan dressing but I thought it would be good on this particular salad. So I just mixed up mayo, heavy cream, lemon, garlic and grated Parmesan. It is yummy! You can also add some cracked pepper to it or just top the salad like I did.
You can actually use any dressing you like on this salad. For instance if you are a fan of Italin dressing like my hubby is, you can toss your salad with it and then maybe add some shredded cheese over the meat mixture. Or you let some cheese like provolone or mozzarella melt on the meat mixture when you are done browning the meat. All these little variations would be tasty.
Well I hope you like this as much as me. I am writing this post a week after I made this and now I want some for lunch. This time I’m going to double the batch so I have it for tomorrow too!
A few notes. You may or may not use all of the dressing on this salad. Also when computing the carbs below, I did not take account the salad base. This is just for 1 serving of the meat mixture and 1 tablespoons of the dressing. With that, here is the nutritional information:
386 cals / 24.4g fat / 7.2g carbs / 1.9g fiber / 30.9g protein = 5.3g net carbs (just meat mixture)
66 cals / 6.8g fat / 0.3g carbs / 0.9g protein = 0.3g net carbs (1 tablespoon dressing)

Sarah
Delicious!! I used Gary’s Quick Steak (similar to steak-ums) instead of ground beef and a nice bed of spinach. The flavor combo with the dressing tastes just like a cheese steak! Will definitely make again!
