I loved these easy, low carb Asian chicken kebabs I made in my Air fryer. It was so easy and very delicious, not to mention low carb and healthy! Each serving has only 4.5g net carbs.

I like to make shish kebabs in the summer. It’s an easy meal because the night before you chop up the meat and vegetables, marinate them and the next day grill for dinner. Very little clean up is needed and it’s a nice healthy dinner for my family.

However, now that I got myself an air fryer, I can make these easy, low carb Asian chicken kebabs all year round and in about 15 minutes!

Easy Low Carb Chicken Marinade Recipe

This is a simple marinade that I used for an Instant Pot shredded Asian beef recipe. It’s simply soy sauce, lots of garlic, ginger and Lakanto golden sweetener.

Lakanto golden is made from monk fruit (luo han guo fruit) and erythritol and is similar to brown sugar. It has zero carbs and zero calories which is very nice. Monk fruit is naturally sweet without affecting blood sugar and is perfect for a healthy sugar substitute.

Air Fryer Chicken Kebabs Recipe

This is how I make these low carb kebabs in a nutshell:

  1. Cut the chicken and vegetables into chunks.
  2. Mix the marinade of soy sauce, Lakanto golden, garlic, ginger, salt & pepper.
  3. Place the chicken and vegetables in a large baggie and pour the marinade over top.
  4. Refrigerate over night or make it early in the morning for serving in the evening.
  5. When ready to eat, place the chicken and vegetables on skewers and place into Air Fryer basket.
  6. Cook at 380°F 12 -1 5 minutes until chicken is at 160° F.

Don’t have An Air Fryer?

You can just make these on the grill or in a grill pan. Times may very on the grill but roughly 15 – 20 minutes. You could also just add everything to a sprayed cookie sheet and bake at 400°F for 15 minutes, flip and then for another 10-15 minutes.

Low Carb Vegetables To Use In Kebabs

For these kebabs I used mushrooms, yellow and green zucchini, colorful bell peppers, red onions and grape tomatoes. When I did the nutrition for these kebab I took out the grape tomatoes as they didn’t really go with the Asian flavors and they were higher in carbs. So here are some carb counts for standard kebab veggies and you can pick what you like.

  • mushrooms (1.6g net carbs per cup)
  • bell peppers (5.9g net carbs per cup)
  • zucchini (2.7g net carbs per cup)
  • cauliflower (3.2g net carbs per cup)
  • red onions (12.2g net carbs per cup)
  • grape tomatoes (4.8g net carbs per cup)
  • green beans (4.3g net carbs per cup)
  • radishes ( 2 net carbs per cup)
  • asparagus ( 2.4 net carbs per cup)
  • carrots ( 7.4 net carbs per cup)
  • broccoli ( 6.1 net carbs per cup)

More Easy Low Carb Air Fryer Recipes To Try

I’m really enjoying my air fryer. One reason is that my teenage son can use it without burning down the house. I plan on showing him a couple decent meals to make himself this summer. Here are a few of my favorite low carb recipes to try if you just got an air fryer.

Well I hope you give these low carb chicken kebabs a try in your air fryer if you have one.

By the way, I have a new air fryer which is a Chefman 6.3 qt digital air fryer. You can use it to dehydrate and it has a rotisserie spit! However I really like that it has a window so you can see your food as it’s cooking.

The nutritional information for 1 serving is:

304 cals / 5.7 fat / 6.2g carbs / 1.7g fiber / 51.6g protein =4.5g net carbs

Did you use 1/2 cup powder or liquid lakanto sweetener in the recipe for the Asian Kabobs? OI am not familiar with the particular artificial sweetener so I am clueless.

Hi Carole, it’s powder not a liquid. Lakanto sweetener is a granular brown sugar sweetener. You could us Swerve brown sugar if you have it or just regular granular sweetener. But if you have brown sugar type sweetener it would be best. Hope that helps and you enjoy it!

For how long and at what temperature would I cook the kabobs using the rotisserie feature on the AirFryer XL Oven? I have been really wanting to try chicken skewers. Thanks!

Hi Tina, I don’t know how you would use the rotisserie function for this but I can’t imagine it would be much different than the regular air frying. I’m sorry I’m not much help. Please let me know if you do it and how it came out.

Interesting recipe. And love that it is made in air fryer. Nice that you used that lakanto syrup for that Asian style sweetness with kebabs.

I’ll definitely need to get an air fryer at some point. This recipe looks so delicious! I’m such a huge fan on kabobs but I’ve never tried them with an Asian marinade. Can’t wait to try! 🙂
