If you are looking for a sugar free, dairy free spread, you have to check out this easy cinnamon toast cashew cream cheese. It’s cream cheese made from cashews with cinnamon toast flavors. One tablespoon of this healthy spread has 48 calories and 2.4g net carbs.

I recently updated a very old post about how to make cashew cream cheese. I forgot how fun it was to use a food item in a different way. In that post I talk about how you can make the recipe sweet or savory so this cinnamon toast cashew cream cheese is a sweet version and was a huge hit.
You just need a few ingredients and it’s so tasty. Even my son really liked this and he has a major disliking of nuts. That’s why I didn’t tell him it was made from cashews. 🙂 I like it because one tablespoon of this healthy spread has 48 calories and 2.4g net carbs.
Ingredients For This Sweet Cashew Cream Cheese
To make this sweet version of cashew cream cheese I used raw cashews, Swerve brown sugar, salt and cinnamon. Remember you want to use raw cashews not roasted. I’m not sure it will work with roasted cashews.
Making Basic Cashew Cream Cheese
You want to start this as early as possible in the day because you are going to soak your cashews for 4-6 hours. Just cover them with water and set aside.
After the 4-6 hours are up you will notice that they swell up a bit. Next you want to rinse and drain the water. Then place them in a high speed blend along with the rest of the ingredients.
Above you can see how smooth and creamy it gets in the blender. I like to use my Vitamix for these kinds of recipes because it’s really good at puree foods until they are smooth and creamy.
Once it’s done you can sprinkle a little more cinnamon on top but that is just for looks.
What To Use This Spread With?
I used apple slices with my cashew cream cheese. Of course they are not low carb so if you are trying to keep the carbs down you can first use green apples which are lower in carbs.
You can also use berries which are the lowest carb fruits. Other low carb things to try are homemade almond crackers (skip the spices though), crisp breads or these peanut crackers would be great.
If you want to buy some low carb crackers or breads check Netrition’s low carb page for a great selection at good prices.
Well I hope you like this easy but tasty cashew cream cheese spread. I’ve made a few times already so next time I’ll try a savory flavor. The nutritional information for 1 tablespoon is:

I love the fact that the spread is dairy and sugar-free! Cinnamon is one of my favourite flavours and I love cashew nuts so this recipe is just perfect for me!!
Aj
I don’t see cream cheese in the list of ingredients.
Denise
Hi AJ, there is no cream cheese…..the soaked cashews end up mimicking cream cheese. This recipe is good for those that can’t do dairy or just like to try something different. Hope that all makes sense.
Jenny
Such a simple, healthy recipe. We have been trying to go dairy free and it is not that easy because we have a weakness for cheese. Your wonderful spread is a great option, thanks so much!
