Once more I have come back from Costco with a big bag of avocados and need to use them – like now – before they get all squishy and unusable. And since I am enamored with my air fryer these days I came up with these super easy keto bacon wrapped avocado fries. YUM!
The creamy baked avocado is wrapped in salty, crunchy bacon which is enhanced with hot sauce. And all it takes is about 15 minutes start to finish. My hubby and I made these for lunch and they were so good. Each avocado fry has only 0.5g net carbs and 1 avocado (4 fries each) was good for both of us!
Just 3 Ingredients Needed!
Once more I bought everything at Aldi so this is pretty cost effective too! I like the center cut bacon for recipes like this because it’s easier to handle when wrapping the avocados. And for a hot sauce I use the Aldi brand but you can use any brand you prefer. My hubby likes Tobasco the best.
How To Cut Avocado Fries
Some people might think this is pretty obvious but for those who don’t, this is how I cut an avocado for avocado fries.
- Cut the avocado in half lengthwise. Twist slowly to get a clean break.
- Gently take out the seed.
- Use a spoon to scoop out all of the avocado flesh from the skin. Do this to both halves.
- Cut each half of avocado into 4 equal long pieces for a total of 8 avocado fries.
Note that you want a ripe avocado but not too ripe that it’s mushy and hard to cut. Your avocados should give a little when you press into it but just barely. That’s how you know it’s the perfect ripeness for this recipe.
Making Spicy Bacon Wrapped Avocado Fries.
First cut the bacon in half so you have 8 pieces. Take the avocado pieces and brush hot sauce all over them. Wrap each piece in bacon and gently place into the basket of your air fryer. Take the remaining hot sauce and brush over the bacon on the avocado fries.
Set the temperature for 400°F and cook for 8-10 minutes or until the bacon gets to your desired crispiness. Below you can see how I like my bacon … nice and crispy.
What To Serve With These Avocado Fries
While these are very tasty on their own, if you want to use them as an appetizer and want to elevate them you can add a dipping sauce too. Here are few of my favorites that might be good with them.
What Do Baked Avocados Taste Like?
Everyone sees those delicious looking baked avocados with the egg in the middle. I tried that once and really didn’t like it. It seems that avocado can get bitter when baked. Here’s a good article about how to cook avocado if you are interested.
With these avocado fries, the bacon and hot sauce are the primary tastes you have and the avocado adds that creamy texture. Because you are not cooking them long, they shouldn’t get that bitter taste. So if you are weary from a failed baked avocado in your past, you might really like these.
By the way I bought a new air fryer, the Chefman digital air fryer. My old air fryer was also good but the Chefman has a window that you can see your food cooking and a rotisserie spit. Both have large basket which is great for cooking a whole chicken in so I would recommend both of them.
Well I hope you give these delicious keto bacon wrapped avocado fries a shot next time you are looking for a low carb snack or app. Just looking at these makes me want to have them for lunch again. Enjoy!

Do you flip them halfway cooking in the air fryer?
Denise
Hi Jackie, I did not. The air fryer cooks them nicely on the bottom and the top so there didn’t seem to be a need. I hope you like them!
Jackie
Thanks Denise. They were delicious! My family loved them. I will make them again for sure!!
Denise
Oh so glad you liked it!

Lauretta
How would you recommend making in the oven since I don’t have an air fryer? Thanks!
Denise
Hi Lauretta,
I have never done this but I’m thinking 12-15 minutes in a 425°F oven. You really just need to get the bacon cooked. The time may vary depending on how thick your bacon is. I would recommend thinner bacon as opposed to thick. Good luck and enjoy!
KC
Do you need to put oil in the air fryer first? If so, how much. I just got my air fryer from a friend and it didnt come with an instruction book. Thank you!
Denise
Hi KC,
I spray the basket with cooking spray so things don’t stick but that is the best thing about the air fryer – you get crispy fried food without using oil. Good luck!

My 6 month old is loving avocados right now, so I just bought a huge bag, but obviously she isn’t going to eat all of them before they go bad. I will definitely have to give this recipe a try – I even got an air fryer for Christmas and haven’t used it yet, so now I have the perfect recipe.
