Recipe & Lamb Nutritional Information
Today I used lamb loin chops. They are very lean and meaty. Lamb in general being a red meat is high in protein and has no carbs or fiber. On average a 6oz lamb loin chop has 335 calories, 24.5g fat, 26.7g protein and 0g carbohydrates. (USDA)
For this recipe (using my Loseit App) the nutritional information for 1 lamb chop is:
446 cals / 27.7g fat / 1.1g carbs / 0.1g fiber / 46.7g protein = 1g net carbs
A Simple Keto Greek Marinade
I used just a few simple ingredients to make this Greek marinade. I used olive oil, salt & pepper, lemon juice, lemon zest, white wine vinegar, oregano and lots of garlic.
Note that I got these beautiful, thick lamb loin chops at Costco. Each one was about 6oz and like a small steak to me. I felt 1 lamb chop was an acceptable serving for me but my hubby had 3.
Let’s Make Some Greek Lamb Chops!
Start by whisking the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl and pouring it over the lamb chops. I just put both in a large baggie.
Place in the refrigerator in the morning to marinade all day. You can even do this over night.
How Long To Grill Lamb Chops
One thing you want to do is make sure to let them sit out for about 15 minutes before you grill and let them sit for 10 minutes after they come of the grill.
My lamb chops were about 1 – 1.5 inches thick and they took about 5-6 minutes per side on the grill.
Recipe Tips & Notes
- Marinade the lamb chops for at least 4-6 hours. Preferably marinade them early in the morning for dinner at night or even over night.
- Make sure to set the lamb out for about 15 minutes before you grill them and then let them sit for about 10 minutes after they come off the grill.
- Grill the lamb chops over medium heat for about 5-6 minutes per side. Mine were about 1 inch thick, if yours are thinner them may take less time.
