I LOVE granola but it has never liked me. I would always get headaches from it no matter what I put in it. However I am pleased to say that this banana bread keto granola recipe is the granola holy grail for me.
This low carb granola recipe is high in protein, sugar free and nut free! So if you are looking for a sweet keto snack, you have to try this granola recipe.
Keto Granola Ingredients I Used
I usually have a wide variety of nuts, seeds and other healthy ingredients in my house since I make so many keto recipes. But this is a keto granola without nuts so I didn’t use any of those.
All I used was coconut, hemp seeds, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds Swerve brown sugar, vanilla extract and Isopure banana flavored protein powder.
I also used a little almond milk to keep it together and coconut oil and butter to toast the ingredients. If you have a nut allergy you could use coconut milk or even water in place of the almond milk.
A note about the protein powder: You can use any kind of protein powder you want but try to use a low carb one like IsoPure Zero Carb protein powder which has 0g carbs or Quest. The protein powder adds flavor, protein and makes the granola stick together so it’s a key ingredient.
Let’s make this keto granola recipe!
Above you can see most of the ingredients. What I did was mix all of the dry ingredients together first in a large bowl. Then I poured over the melted butter and coconut oil and mixed well. Lastly I add the almond milk and vanilla extract and made sure everything was sticky and wet.
First lay a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet or use a silicone mat. Then spread the wet granola mixture evenly throughout the cookie sheet.
Don’t worry if you have been clumps. You can break them up to small pieces if you want after it’s done.
Bake in a 300°F oven for around 20 minutes. Stir halfway through to keep it evenly browned on both sides. Let it cool then store in a sealed container or baggie.
Ways to eat & store this granola
I’ve been eating this granola as both a keto sweet snack and as a cold cereal. It is sweet, crunchy and very, very filling.
You can also eat it over plain full fat yogurt to make a low carb parfait or eat it with keto pudding.
Store this homemade granola in a sealed container or sealed baggie to keep it crisp. I end up eating this in just a few days and it stay crunchy for me.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- I used a variety of seeds, coconut oil, butter, sweetener, almond milk and protein powder. You can use all or some of the types of seeds I used and even nuts.
- You can substitute coconut milk or water for almond milk if you have a nut allergy.
- Try to use a low carb protein powder like IsoPure banana protein powder as it’s a key element to this granola. It adds flavor, protein and makes it stick together. You can use any flavor or brand you want though.
- To add flavor without carbs, try using different flavor extracts. You can add banana extract to add even more banana flavor in this recipe. Extracts come in all kinds of flavors and easily found in the grocery store baking aisle.
- I used Swerve brown sugar sweetener because I think it adds to the banana bread flavor but you can use any kind of powdered sweetener you wish. Lakanto golden is another good one to try.
- NOTE: This granola is very filing IMO. Sometimes I want to eat more than 1 serving for a snack and if I do, I am not hungry for a very long time. That just might be me though but keep it mind when you try it.
- Serving size is roughly â…“ cup.
So far I have made strawberry, chocolate and this banana bread keto granola. I can’t tell you how happy this recipe has made me. Even my husband who does not care for granola likes it. I hope you give it a try and let me know if you come up with any delicious flavors!

One of the things I have grown to appreciate over the years is MORE homemade foods such as this keto granola recipe! It has been a game-changer and the entire family enjoys it! Before we used to just by granola in the box at Publix and really once you looking closer at labels —homemade granola is so much better in every way!
Have a wonderful day!

I am all about the homemade granola. This sounds delicous. I would love this topped on my yogurt. So much better than store bought.
