I don’t know why but I’ve been wanting to make this low carb bacon hamburger dip for awhile now. I have a thing about bacon cheeseburgers and this dip is like getting all that flavor in one bite. It’s really easy to make and would be a great appetizer to take to a football party. The cheese chips make it all that much more fun to eat!
Other Low Carb Bacon Cheeseburger Dishes To Try
Bacon cheeseburger flavored recipes make the perfect low carb or keto dishes. If you like them as much as my family does, here are few for you to try:

Bacon Hamburger Dip Recipe
Let’s talk about the layers of this low carb dip. The first layer is a mixture of whipped cream cheese and ranch dressing. The second is a layer of browned ground beef that was seasoned with steak seasoning. Next you sprinkle shredded romaine lettuce all over. The last layer is chopped tomatoes, red onions and bacon.
So there really isn’t much cooking to this recipe. It’s a like a taco layered dip but with hamburger ingredients!
There is no cheese on this burger dip because I made cheese chips to use to scoop it up. However if you want to add more cheese, go for it. Just sprinkle it on top with the tomatoes and onions.
Making The Keto Cheese Chips
These are very simple to make. I used a silicone mat so they would be easy to pull off but you can use parchment paper if you wish. Just add a heaping tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 8 minutes.
A note about the cheese chips. These are more chewy than crispy. I think they work better when you are scooping up the dip. You could also buy cheddar cheese crisps to use as dippers though I have not tried this yet. I do know Aldi sells them too.
Another Hamburger Dip Variation
You can also add extra ranch dressing on top if you wish. If you are going for a Big Mac taste, try a low carb thousand island dressing. However I didn’t think it was necessary since you have the cream cheese and ranch layer on the bottom.
And you can also change the toppings. Just keep in mind the carbs in your topping if you are on a low carb diet.
Try This Higher Carb Option Too
I saw this on the Pioneer Woman tv show. She made croutons from hamburger buns (sesame seed buns would be great for this) and put them on top of her hamburger salad. This of course would not be low carb but would work with this recipe too.
I really liked this and I ate it for dinner and lunch! However it was meant to be a keto snack or low carb appetizer. If you are making it for a party, it will taste best when you make it right before the party.
The nutritional information for 1 serving (based on 16) is:
139 cals / 10.2g fat / 1.9g carbs / 0.2g fiber / 8.9g protein = 1.7g net carbs
For the chips, since they are only 1 tablespoon each it is roughly 0.1g net carbs per chip.
Low Carb Bacon Hamburger Dip
If you are looking for a fun keto snack for your next party, try this low carb bacon hamburger dip! Using cheese crisps to dip with, you can have your cheeseburger without the bun!
Ingredients
Hamburger Dip
- 1 lb ground beef, lean
- 1 tablespoon steak seasoning
- ½ cup ranch dressing
- 1 cup whipped cream cheese, softened
- 4 slices thick bacon
- 2 cups romaine lettuce, shredded
- ⅔ cup tomatoes, diced
- ⅓ cup diced red onions
Cheese Chips
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)
Instructions
Making the Hamburger Dip
-
In a large skillet add the ground beef and sprinkle the steak seasoning. Brown the meat and set aside. Drain the grease if there is a lot.
-
While the meat is browning, mix the whipped cream cheese and ranch dressing. If using regular cream cheese, make sure that it is softened so you can mix it. Spread the mixture in baking dish.
-
Once the meat has cooled a little, sprinkle on top of the cream cheese layer.
-
Next add the shredded lettuce and remaining toppings.
Making Cheese Chips
-
Preheat oven to 350°F. Use a silicone mat or parchement paper on a cookie sheet. Add a heaping tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese and bake for 8 minutes. Let cool before using.
-
Note these chips will be chewy and not crunchy. This will be better to scoop up the hamburger dip. You can also use premade cheese crisps.
