How To Make Gluten Free Fried Cauliflower In The Air Fryer
The simplest way to make low carb fried cauliflower is in the air fryer. I just used mayonnaise and crushed pork rinds like I have for my keto chicken nuggets.
- Cut the cauliflower into florets.
- Place the florets in a large baggie with the mayo. Squish it around so that the mayo coats all of the cauliflower.
- In a bowl add the crushed pork rinds and then piece by piece roll the mayo covered cauliflower in the pork rinds.
- Spray the basket of the air fryer and then place the breaded cauliflower in it.
- Cook at 350°F for 12 minutes flipping halfway through. Then turn up the heat to 400°F and bake for another 5 minutes.
Making The Sugar Free Asian Sauce
This Asian sauce is very similar to the one I used for my low carb Mongolian beef meatballs.
To make it, add soy sauce, water, garlic, ginger and Swerve brown sugar to a small saucepan. Whisk over medium heat until the brown sugar has dissolved and then take it off the stove.
Putting It All Together
Now to finish this dish, all you have to do is pour a little of the sauce over the fried cauliflower for the last 3 minutes. Then when it’s done in the air fryer, pour some more over the cauliflower to your liking and save the rest as a dipping sauce.
Recipe Tips And Notes
- Use a large baggie to coat the mayo over the raw cauliflower florets. If you want you can add a little water to make the mayo thinner and easier to coat but don’t use much. Just like a teaspoon.
- You could also just add the mayo to a bowl and coat the florets that way.
- You will have a bit of extra sauce so use it for dipping too.
- When you baste the cauliflower in the air fryer, just spoon a little over each piece so you don’t have a big mess.
- Don’t mix the cauliflower around after it’s fried as the breading will come off. Just spoon the sauce gently over it when it’s done. Or just dip it in the sauce.

This keto fried cauliflower was really quite tasty and I think I will be experimenting with more Asian sauces with my fried cauliflower in the future.
