I love salmon and luckily every one in my family loves it too. My husband makes his smoked salmon one a month but tonight I wanted to use my air fryer. It’s becoming my favorite kitchen appliance especially on a busy weeknight.
So I made this lemon pepper salmon in the air fryer and added some broccoli that would go great with the sauce. It was so easy to make and the whole healthy dinner was done in about 20 minutes. It’s also naturally low carb and high in protein!
Health benefits of salmon.
Seafood in general is a good type of food to incorporate into your diet and salmon is one of the best. Salmon is a fatty fish that is rich in omega-3’s, and a great source of protein, B vitamins, potassium and selenium (source). I love it because it’s so tasty and versatile.
Recipe ingredients I used.
The simple ingredients I used was for the lemon pepper butter sauce for the salmon were butter, lemon juice, lemon slices, fresh garlic, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce.
This lemon butter sauce is great for fish of any kind and it goes great with vegetables. The flavor of lemon, garlic and butter can make any food taste good in my opinion! I make a similar sauce for peel and eat shrimp dish which is a family favorite.
I had a nice piece of fresh, raw salmon that I bought from Aldi. The piece was about 8oz and could easily serve 2 people. If you want you can cut it into 2 pieces of salmon fillets before cooking but I kept it whole.
I also added a couple cups of fresh broccoli florets to round out the meal. I knew it would go well with the sauce.

Mix well and the pour over the piece of fish and broccoli in the air fryer basket. Place the lemon slices over everything in the basket.
Step 3: Place the basket in the air fryer and cook for 8 minutes at 380°F. Flip the fish over and cook for 8-9 more minutes until it’s cooked through. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model. Also I like mine rare in the middle. If you don’t you might want to cook it for a minute or two more.
As I mentioned I used broccoli for this dish but you could also use just about any other green vegetable. Zucchini, green beans, asparagus, cauliflower, snap peas, mushrooms, etc would all work well wit the sauce.
What to eat with air fryer salmon.
We just ate the salmon and broccoli for our dinner and it was quite good to me. However if your family misses having a starch you can serve this with cooked rice or pasta.
Those are not low carb options though and if you want a keto side dish, this would be great with zucchini noodles Alfredo, cheesy broccoli rice or asiago cauliflower rice.

Lea
Are you using an egg shaped air fryer or a toaster oven style? Our toaster oven basket has holes that allow the sauce to drip out.
Denise
Hi Lea, I have an egg shaped one. What you could do is mix the sauce with the broccoli and save a bit to pour over the salmon. Then put the broccoli in the carefully put both in the air fryer and spoon the leftover bit of sauce over top the salmon. Or you an put a piece of parchment paper down first. Hope that helps!
