If you have been coming to my site over the years, you know I love Aldi grocery store. Recently I posted these 8 Aldi Flatbread Recipes because their flatbreads are so easy to use for quick dinners or to take to a party.
Today I’m sharing with you my newest post for these easy bbq sliders in which I also buy everything at Aldi. You only need 4 ingredients to make this easy appetizer or even fun dinner idea for busy weeknights. These are perfect for football season to take to as party appetizer or just to eat at home. We ate them for dinner and just loved the flavor combination.
Recipe ingredients I bought at Aldi.
The 4 simple ingredients you need to make this recipe is a pork tenderloin, bbq sauce, slider rolls and southwest coleslaw mix.
- Pork Tenderloin – If making pulled pork you want to use pork tenderloin for this recipe as it’s the easiest to use and tastes great. You could use a pork shoulder but it might be a bit greasier. I would don’t use a pork loin which is too lean and will be dry. You can also substitute with shredded chicken thighs or chicken breasts.
- Hawaiian Sweet Rolls – I bought the brioche Hawaiian rolls (slider rolls) at Aldi but any kind of slider buns will work. I personally like the less sweet ones but they are hard to find. Occasionally I can even find keto slider rolls at Aldi! Of course if you don’t want to make sliders you can just buy regular hamburger buns.
- Southwest Coleslaw – I like the flavor of southwest coleslaw on top of the sweet bbq pulled pork. I bought this salad kit at Aldi that makes this recipe a snap. You can substitute with regular coleslaw mix and buy slaw dressing. Or try a simple oil and vinegar with a shredded cabbage. You can also serve this along side the pulled pork. (I also have this creamy southwest coleslaw recipe.)
- BBQ Sauce – Because I was trying to make this as easy as possible I used this Kansaas City style sauce from Aldi. They have a variety of flavors but you can use whatever brand is your favorite.
Other things you can put on these little pulled pork sliders is cheese (sharp cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack or mozzarella cheese, etc.), dill pickles, pickled red onions, raw red onions, vidalia onions, thin sliced fresh jalapenos, pickled jalapenos, hot sauce, etc.
How to make this easy bbq pulled pork for sliders or sandwiches.
This is perhaps the easiest way to make bbq pulled pork in my opinion and I learned it from my sister in law. You can eat this slow cooker pulled pork for dinner and have enough left over for sandwiches. It is also the meat we are using in these sliders.
- Cut the pork tenderloin into large chunks and set into crockpot. Pour ½ cup of barbecue sauce on top and place the lid on the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-6 hours. When done, take two large forks and shred the meat. You can do this in the crock. Then pour another ½ cup of sauce over top and mix together. Cook for another 10 minutes.
- When done you can use this for your pulled pork sliders. Note you can do this the day before if you want.
How to make the bbq sliders.
Step 1: Make the bbq pulled pork in the slow cooker in the morning if serving later in the day or do it the night before. You can also make the meat for dinner one day and use the leftovers for this dish. See above for how to make the slow cooker pulled pork.
Step 2: Preheat oven to 350°F and get out a baking sheet and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 3: Slice the slider buns in half like you would a bagel then lay the bottoms on the prepared baking sheet. On the bottom half add a mound of bbq meat and then top with a tablespoon of bbq sauce on each bun. The amount of meat and sauce is up to you.
Then place the tops of the buns on the meat and spray the rolls with cooking spray or you can brush melted butter or olive oil. Optionally you can sprinkle some garlic powder on top if you want for a garlic bread flavor though that is optional. Cover with aluminum foil and place in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.
Step 4: While the sandwiches are baking make the southwest slaw. Mix the dressing and salad from the kit together but do not put in the tortilla strips or the cheese. Then refrigerate the slaw until ready to eat.
Step 5: When the sliders are done, take out of the oven and you can serve this two ways. You can have extra sauce on the side along with the slaw and everyone can make their own. Or you can just add a bit of slaw on all of them and serve.
We ate these for dinner so we made our own. But if you are doing these for a party you may have a preference.

More easy slider recipes to try.
I’ve been loving sliders these past few years for football games and other get togethers but we also just like them for an easy dinner. Here are a few more flavor combinations you might like.

I loved the simplicity of this bbq sliders recipe and it’s perfect for taking to a party on game day. And even if you don’t want to make sliders you can use regular buns and bring the fixings for bbq pulled pork sandwiches.
Buying the 4 ingredients from Aldi makes it simple and perhaps more cost effective too. I hope you like them as much as we did. Enjoy!
Easy BBQ Sliders Recipe - 4 ingredients from Aldi!
This easy and tasty bbq sliders recipe can be made with 4 simple ingredinets from Aldi. Slow cooked pulled pork topped with zesty barbecue sauce and topped with southwest slaw for the perfect game day snack or dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 -3 pounds pork tenderloin
- 1 ¾ cups of bbq sauce (more or less to your liking)
- 1 Aldi Southwest Chopped Salad Kit (or and coleslaw kit)
- 1 pack of Hawaiian rolls (slider buns)
Instructions
- To make the bbq pulled pork - Note you can make this the day before or even eat this for dinner and use leftovers for the sandwiches. Cut the pork tenderloin into large chuns and place in the slow cooker along with ½ cup of a barbecue sauce of your choice.
- Cover and cook for 4-6 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low. When it's pull apart tender it is done. Take two forks and shred the meat and then mix with ½ of sauce and let sit for 10 minutes. Note you might have some leftover meat depending on how much you put on the buns. This made 12 sliders for me but I had a bit leftover.
- To make the sliders - When ready to eat, preheat the oven to 350°F and spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spary.
- Cut the slider rolls in half as you would a bagel. Place the bottoms on the prepared baking sheet. Top with as much pulled pork you want on top of the bread. Then add about 1 tablespoon of barbecue sauce on top. Place the bun tops on the meat and spray the tops with cooking spray. You can also use olive oil or metled butter. If you want a garlic bread flavor use melted butter and sprinkle of garlic powder on top.
- Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil. Bake for 10-15 minutes. While they are baking make the slaw using the salad kit. The Aldi kit comes with cheese and tortilla strips. Do not use these in the slaw. Just mix the cabbage and dressing and set aside or place in the refrigerator.
- To assemble - You can either serve this with the coleslaw and extra sauce on the side or you can add some of the slaw on top of all the meat on the buns and then serve.
- You can also just make regular size pulled pork sandwiches with these ingredients and some burger buns. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
Notes
Other things you can put on these little sammies is cheese (cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, etc.), dill pickles, pickled onions, red onions, vidalian onions, thin sliced fresh jalapenos, pickled jalapenos, hot sauce, etc.
