Gardener’s Bliss Hand Salve

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day and each year my sister Patti surprises all the mothers in our family with something wonderful. Yesterday she gave me mine….heirloom tomato plants  she started from seed, a basil plant and a jar of her handmade Gardener’s Bliss hand salve. How lucky am I!  Patti is so thoughtful and creative and excellent gardener too. You can learn all about her and a lot about gardening at her blog GardenMatter.com.

It’s hard to describe how lovely this salve is but I’m going to try. First of all it comes in a beautiful glass jar with a little plastic spatula. She had me on the packaging alone. (I’m a sucker for cool packaging.) She made the salve from scratch and added her own labels. When you open the jar you are met with a fab combination of lavender and lemon essential oils. The salve itself is made with coconut oil, olive oil and beeswax and preserved with vitamin E. Is feels so smooth and soft that it just has to make your hands feel silky after a long day in the garden. I’m sure you don’t have to limit it’s use to just hands. I bet it works great on lips, legs, feet, you name it.

Did I mention my sister has a blog? If you are beginner gardener (such as myself) or a seasoned gardener such as my sister Patti, you can find lots of info and projects on her blog GardenMatter.com. Check it out here. And for the hand salve recipe go here and make it for yourself or a friend. They will be so impressed! Enjoy!

PS Go here to check out her other projects. She made the candle below for my sister in law’s baby shower. Isn’t it adorable?!

Thank you. You are too kind. I’m very happy that you like the salve.
