Maybe the best state in the US for the variety of natural beauty is Oregon. If you like the beach, breathtaking seascapes, mountains, deserts, forests, rivers, waterfalls or unspoiled nature, Oregon has it all.

These are beautiful pictures! We transplanted from OR to AZ thirty years ago. We lived south of Portland and my husband was born and raised in Salem. We did tons of camping and lots of day trips to all those same places you have shown, and it is beautiful. We moved because my hubby could not take the rain anymore…..you see, there is a reason why everything is so lush and green! We still have family in OR, and try always to visit in August. That’s the best time to get out of AZ and is just about the best weather time in OR. This was really fun and brought back lots of memories.

My grandparents used to live in a small town called, Colton, near Mt. Hood–beautiful country. THe Multnomah Falls are gorgeous. Thanks for the day trip and for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty – we hope to see you again next week. 🙂

I’ve never been to Portland but it looks beautiful! I’ll have to put it on my list of places to visit, although it’s a very long list 😉

Even though my husband writes all these travel posts, I do love all the places he’s taken me. Oregon being one of my favorites. It just has so much natural beauty. I too have a long list!

Thanks so much for these tips! I love your photos of all the beautiful locations. We have been to Portland a couple of times but have not had the chance to venture to neighboring cities. Stopping by from the SITS party.
