If you are making a prime rib roast during the holiday season I have a special tip to make it super easy.

My biggest tip for making the best prime rib is to use the Roast Perfect app. It’s free and will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know.

The night before prepare the spice rub (salt, oregano, basil, thyme and rosemary) and rub all over the roast.

Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerated it over night. A half hour before roasting take it out and let it come to room temperature.

FOR A 5.5 LB ROAST Roast for 15 minutes at 450°F. Turn down to 325°F for 2 hours. Let rest before slicing.

The temperature to look for is 135°F when you take it out of the oven. It will then continue to cook while resting.
