This low carb gyro burger is not only delicious, it's a lot of fun to eat. Skip the pita, have a meat bagel instead.

Ingredients

  • Gyro Burger
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ onion minced
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoons rosemary ground
  • 2 teaspoons marjoram
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 3 slices each tomatoes red onion, lettuce leaves
  • Tzatziki Sauce
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ seedless cucumber chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic crushed
  • ½ Tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh mint finely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon vinegar

Instructions

  1. Tzatziki Sauce
  2. In a large bowl add your yogurt, cucumber, mint, garlic, vinegar, salt and oil.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  4. Gyro Burgers
  5. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and spray donut pan with cooking spray.
  6. In a large bowl, add your beef, onion, garlic, rosemary, marjoram, salt and pepper. Mix well with your hands. I chopped my onions and garlic in a food processor first.
  7. Divide the meat into 6 portions and press the meat into the donut pan. Make sure they are nice and smooth.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes, then take them out and place on a cookie sheet and stick under the broiler for 2-3 minutes or until they are nice and brown.
  9. Assemble burger with a piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato and a slice of red onion. Top with a tablespoon of Tzatziki sauce. Add the top burger and enjoy!
