This slow cooker smokey barbecue pork will make you feel like you are at a summer barbecue in winter! Spicy, crusty chunks of barbecue pork also taste delicious on a sandwich or salad the next day.

Ingredients

  • 4.5 lb pork shoulder roast
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • 1 tablespoon Swerve sweetener
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne powder
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin

Instructions

  1. Make a paste from the liquid smoke and spices and rub all over the pork roast. If you want a more smokey taste, add another tablespoon of liquid smoke.
  2. Set in the slow cooker for 7 hours on low without any liquid.
  3. After 7 hours, take the roast out and lay on a foil covered cookie sheet and bake in a 425 degree F oven for 25- 30 minutes.
  4. Take out of oven and shred into pieces.
  5. Serve with barbecue sauce on the side.
