These easy Italian green beans are great with almost any main dish. Using simple ingredients to create big flavors!
One of the vegetables that we can all agree on in my family is green beans. My husband grows them in the garden and sometimes will have them for lunch. Just green beans. So I like to find many ways to prepare them but one of my go to dishes is this easy Italian green beans side dish. It goes with just about everything and it’s very simple to make. The garlicky tomatoes and Italian spices make this dish tasty on it’s own. You could even eat this with rice and it would be a vegetarian dinner.
I have a lot of green bean dishes on this site. On of my favorites is a low carb green bean casserole that I made for Thanksgiving. If you scroll down to the end of the post you can see pics of the other green bean recipes I’ve created.
To make this easy dish, you start by microwaving the green beans for 4 minutes. I have a nice microwaveable steamer pot that I got at a Pampered Chef party and I use that all the time to precook my veggies. It just makes the recipe go faster. In the meantime you can saute the tomatoes, garlic and spices until the tomatoes start to wither and burst. That should take about 10 minutes. Then you add in the green beans and cook for a few minutes more to get the flavors to meld. That’s all there is to it!
